Hamtramck Michigan Music

Some of the greatest singers in music history hail from Michigan, but you might be surprised to learn that some other great musicians were born here. You may not know that Michigan is home to some of music's most famous singers and songwriters, such as Elvis Presley. Here is a list of some big names that you may not even have noticed coming from the state, and some that are.

The DeBarge family of musicians founded their group in Detroit in the mid-1970s and later moved to Grand Rapids. Royce da 5 '9 "is known for his songwriting skills and musical style, having been born in Detroit in 1977. Marshall Crenshaw: C Renshaw, born in DETROIT in 1953, is known for his hit "Someday Someway," which reached the Top 40 in 1982. Sufjan Stevens: Although he is from Detroit, he is best known as the lead singer of his 2005 album Illinois, which reached number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

Fellow Michigander Smokey Robinson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. One of the earliest indie labels was a long - no longer existing - rockabilly imprint that pushed numerous troubadour artists who performed in whiskey into the state's sodden salons. Although they were not the only Motown band with white members, the first Motown band to have a hit was born in Detroit.

Hamtramck is about two square miles in size and is located about five miles from downtown Detroit, with I-75 running along its western border, while it is south of I-94. It is surrounded by the city of Detroit, although the western boundaries are touched by another similarly surrounding city, Highland Park, and itself is surrounded on all sides by a series of bridges over the Detroit River and the Huron River. Hamtramsk, Michigan, USA, is also surrounded by this city to the east and by it to the west, as are the similarly surrounded cities of Lansing and Detroit.

Hamtramck is surrounded by the city of Detroit, which in turn surrounds all of Wayne County's cities, except for the nearby cities. In 2002, I lived in Hamtramsck, along with the surrounding neighborhoods, in Detroit. Detroit is and will remain surrounded by Detroit to the east, while Highland Park, as it turns out, is surrounded by Detroit, and Highland Park and the Michigan State University campus to the west.

In May 2003, Hamtramck was selected by Maxim Blender as one of the ten best cities in the United States for the "Best City of Music" award. In May 2003, Ham Tramsck, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, was selected as a "Top 10" city by Maxim Blenders in Michigan's "Greatest Music Cities" category.

Hamtramck is the only Michigan city to win the title and has been a baseball playground for some time. Utne Reader has voted Hamtramsck into the Top 10 of "Back - Leading Blue - Collar Neighborhoods in the United States" for the second year in a row for its "Best City of Music" award, and it was the first time in Michigan's history that a city has won the title in its first year of receiving the award. Ham's trams are America's most popular music city and the third-best city on the list of "Greatest Music Cities," and have long been the hottest bedding in baseball's basement, at least since the mid-1960s.

The Detroit Area Blues Events, which have been updated over the years, have Hamtramck on their list, as does the Detroit Blues Society, which has been listed as one of the top 10 blues cities in the US for a decade.
