This week we came up with some great things at Michigan's Best Weekend Show and shared them here. More than 130 Michigan breweries will showcase their best beers from across the state and beyond. Here is a list of events taking place at the show this week and some of our best picks we've been looking for lately.

After the village had repelled the annexation attempts of the neighboring city Detroit, it was reincorporated as a city in 1924.

The Archbishop of Detroit, Allen Vigneron, has recently publicly reminded his priests that they must defend themselves against those who restrict Muslim immigrants on the basis of their religion. Only about 11 percent of Hamtramck's population is still Catholic, but there are still many Muslims living in Hamtramck.

Michigan State Police took over law enforcement in the city from local police who enforced prohibition, and most moved to other Detroit suburbs. He said he didn't want to be part of a city like Detroit and have to pay its tax rates, so he worked his way up. It was a positive experience for him because he was able to get to know the city while actually living in Hamtramck, Michigan.
